Trabant model cars database

The Trabant, produced by VEB Sachsenring in East Germany, became the most recognizable symbol of the Eastern Bloc. Made of Duroplast (a recycled plastic reinforced with cotton), its simple two-stroke engine and smoky exhaust were staples of life behind the Berlin Wall. Despite long waiting lists, the 'Trabi' remains a beloved cult icon of affordable, no-frills socialist motoring.
