REO Motor Car Company was founded by Ransom E. Olds after he left Oldsmobile. REO is famous for the Speed Wagon - the ancestor of the modern pickup truck and innovative luxury cars like the Royale. While car production ended in 1936, REO continued as a major manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks for several decades.
